Why AI Struggles With Exact Text in Images
Why generated signs, labels, logos, charts, and infographics often have misspelled or distorted text.
The common situation
You ask for a poster, product label, logo, chart, or sign with exact wording. The image looks good overall, but the words are misspelled, warped, or unreadable.
Common reasons this happens
- Image models generate visual patterns, not text-layout documents in the same way a design tool does.
- Exact typography, spacing, and spelling require precision that many image models handle inconsistently.
- Long text increases the chance of errors.
- Stylized fonts and perspective effects make accuracy harder.
- Brand logos and protected marks may raise additional limits.
What you can try safely
- Generate the image without text, then add text in an editor.
- Use short labels only if the tool supports text well.
- Ask for blank signs, empty labels, or layout placeholders.
- For infographics, create the content as HTML, SVG, PDF, or a slide instead of a pure generated image.
- Proofread every generated image before publishing.
Visual prompt rule: describe the subject, composition, lighting, mood and requested change clearly, then separate design problems from identity, copyright or safety limits.
What this does not necessarily mean
Bad text in an image does not mean the entire image failed. It means the job may need a design workflow rather than image generation alone.
When official support is the right path
Provider support is not usually needed unless text rendering is advertised as a feature and fails consistently.
